30th Annual Sports Jamboree
The L H Kinnard 30th Annual Sports Jamboree was held June 22-24 2012 at Fort Indiantown Gap; where 32 contestants enjoyed a weekend of sun, fun and parties, oh yes they even found time to compete in friendly competition sports such as Archery, Horseshoes, Baseball (Contestants defeated the Boy Scouts) and a few other games. We welcomed some new contestants to our Circle of Friendship this year, all who had a great time and vowed to come back next year.
Joining our 30th Birthday Celebration Parade on Saturday were four previous contestants; as well as 13 previous Jamboree Chairpersons whom were all adorned in their colorful jamboree shirts from their Chairmanship year, added to the orange shirts this year the parade was quite colorful.
A special thank you goes out to Officer Anthony Clements and his K9 partner Chico of the Derry Township Police K9 unit for demonstrating the K9 way of finding narcotics and the bite command, (kudos to our Trooper friend for “volunteering” to meet Chico up close and personal)
I would like to thank my Committee Chairpersons, countless Volunteers, the PA State Police, the US Army National Guard and of course Mike for helping to make the 30th Annual Jamboree a great success. Good Luck to the 2013 Jamboree Chairpersons; Nancy Bell, Lidia Folk and Fran Morris.
